PRAYER FOR ALL MEN
1 Tim 2:1-3 " I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God"s mercy upon them and give thanks. Pray this way for Kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our savior.
God is a God of purpose and His purposes are eternal. Like apostle Paul (Phil.3:10), we all want to know God and to know God is to know HIs will for us- to know what He wants us to do, because God created mankind for and with a desired purpose. The above scripture is one of them: To pray for all men. We are also urged to pray for kings and all others who are in authority.
May 14 is election day and we are to exercise our rights. We will vote for men and women to occupy choiced seats of governance. The more needful it is for us to pray that God give to us the leaders we need and not the leaders that we deserve.
If we wish to reap the benefits of good government, lets agree with God - heart, soul, mind and strength - to bring about God"s will. Lets give God an earthly incense to intervene in this election for the good of our nation.

Living as Children of Light
Ephesians 4:7-16
4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 4:8 Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.” 4:9 Now what is the meaning of “he ascended,” except that he also descended to the lower regions, namely, the earth? 4:10 He, the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things. 4:11 It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 4:12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ, 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God – a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ’s full stature. 4:14 So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes. 4:15 But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head. 4:16 From him the whole body grows, fitted and held together through every supporting ligament. As each one does its part, the body grows in love.

Why is Obedience Better than Sacrifice?
We are already near the end of this year. Last January, there was a revelation that God's move this year is CHANGE. It is a refreshing revelation because of what's happening around us. We often think that there's no more hope anymore. Our country seems to be going down the drain, relationships break, hatred and anger are so prevalent in people's lives. When I heard that word last January, I prayed about it in relation to an important person in my life. But I wondered if that word will also be applied in my own life. Now I claim that it does apply.
Travelling life's road may have been hard for me. The people who really know me have seen my ups and downs. I have experienced tough times which turned out to be God's testing of my faith. I know I do not have the worst situation because the Lord gave me trials which I could bear yet when I experienced rigid shakings, I was unable to control my tears. As a human being, I am not exempt from these things...much more because I am a guidance counselor. This allows me to understand my clients more and provide appropriate interventions.
Even with these testimonies, I was not living a thoroughly victorious life. Something is hindering my full bloom as a daughter of God. And I know what that is.God has been talking to me recently through Bible-reading, reflection, midweek service, Sunday sermon, and even normal conversations. In the church, we are studying the life of Abraham. He's known to be the father of faith and God blessed him so greatly because he was willing to give up many things. The call for Christians this time is to discover the calling of God, give up things/situations/people/habits that will hinder God's abundant blessings. As I was meditating, I know what God is specifically asking from me. He has been speaking for a long time yet I was also disregarding that still, small voice of the Holy Spirit.
This time around, I have made a decision. And with decision comes so many testings. There are different kinds of attacks that the enemy is throwing at me. I am aware that I am in a spiritual battle. I know I am weak, but I wear the full armor of Jesus because He will fight for me. The only great thing about this is that I know I have decided to bring joy to God's heart. This is for my good, and the good of those I love. For a long period of time I have become just like the Israelites to whom God showed His faithfulness, yet remained to be stiff-necked.
I know I am not a perfect person. Yet what's good about letting God control my life is that He is changing me from glory to glory. Feelings and thoughts may be negative, yet He is concerned with my attitude and character.
I may have stumbled, yet I did not fall. Thankfully God is giving me this chance to renew my ways. I know something good is going to happen. All my dreams and plans will be fulfilled in His time. This obedience is a turning point of all the aspects of my life (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, including my relationships with loved ones.) By faith i declare it.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
It's really important to look at our own lives and correct whatever does not glorify God. Sometimes all of us look at others' lives and formulate our own prejudices. We even misjudge our own families, loved ones, and friends. Too bad it isn't helping another person in any way. Yeah, others may have hurt our expectations, values, and beliefs but the best thing to do is pray for them. I've been spreading this suggestion but some people do not like this idea because they told me that the poeple who offended them are not worthy of their prayers and forgiveness. Hmmm, who are we anyway? I've been tested on this matter many times. Often I've been misjudged by having a forgiving heart. But I do not do this for myself. I am only obeying what God has commanded in His word. My master is not myself or any other person. My Master is Jesus. That's why even though the idea is unacceptable, obedience is still better than sacrifice. I will obey Him, whether I like it or not because His approval and delight is what matters, not the approval of people around me.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
What is it that God is calling you to do? What is it that God is telling you to give up so that He can pour His anointing and blessing? Let's reflect on this devotion:
James 4:8 - Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
There may be times when God seems far away. You may feel as if your prayers go unheard. James said that there is a simple reason for this and a solution. If you are far from God, it is because your sin has separated you from Him. God is unchanging. His character stays absolutely holy. His faithfulness remains constant; it is we who change. We allow sin into our lives. We choose our own direction. We spend less and less time with Him in Bible study and prayer.
Drawing near to God requires you to take two actions. First, you must cleanse your hands. You must cleanse your way of living. If you have been actively engaged in sin, you must renounce it. If you have been doing something to offend or hurt someone, you must make it right. Second, you are to purify your heart. You must make certain your attitudes, thoughts, and motives are right in God's eyes and are in harmony with God's Word. Jesus warned that you cannot serve two masters. It is impossible to love anything else as much as you love God and still please Him. (Experiencing God day-by-day, p.210)
Praise God, I am part of God's move of CHANGE this year. I pray that all of us will submit to that. Listen and OBEY. A wonderful and victorious life ahead!

Mighty To Save Lyrics by Hillsong
*Play the video below the lyrics*
Mighty To Save
Verse 1:
Everyone needs compassion
Love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
Chorus:
Savior, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever, Author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
Verse 2:
So take as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender
Bridge:
Shine your light
And let the whole world see
We're singing
For the glory of the risen King, Jesus

Schools
Parents taught their children Bible Verses when they were still very young. They learned verses from the law and stories from the Old Testament.
When boys were five or six years old, they went to school. The leader of the synagogue taught them. For the first four years, they studied mostly the first five books of the Bible. By then they knew the laws of God very well. They also learned how to read and write Hebrew. For the next several years they studied other books of the Bible and other Jewish writings.
When a Jewish boy reached the age of twelve or thirteen, he was considered to be a man. The boy and his family and friends celebrated with a special ceremony and often a party. Most boys left school at this age.
Girls were taught at home to be wives and mothers. Most girls did not go to school or learn to read or write. By early adolescence many girls were married.

4 STEPS TO GOD
1. God Loves You!
The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, thats whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
The problem is that
2. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God.The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever. The Bible says “The wages of sin is death.”
The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago,
3. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.
4. If you want to accept Christ, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."

TEN GUIDELINES FROM GOD
Effective Immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need to make in YOUR life. These changes need to becompleted in order that I may fulfill My promisesto you to grant you peace, joy and happiness inthis life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. Please, followthese 10 guidelines
1. QUIT WORRYING:Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am hereto take all your burdens and carry them for you?Or do you just enjoy fretting over every littlething that comes your way?
2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:Something needs to be done or taken cared of. Put iton the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MYto-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turnit over to Me. And although My to-do-listis long, I am after all... God. I can take careof anything you put into My hands. In fact,if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you nevereven realize.
3. TRUST ME:Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust inMe. Have the faith that I will take care ofall your needs, your problems and your trials.Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster ?For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.
4. LEAVE IT ALONE:Don't you wake up one morning and say,"Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here. " Why do you thinkyou are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm takingcare of them. I also renew your strengthand cover you in my peace. Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started?Leave them with Me and forget aboutthem. Just let Me do my job.
5. TALK TO ME:I want you to forget a lot of things.Forget what was making you crazy.Forget the worry and the fretting becauseyou know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don'tforget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU!I want to hear your voice. I want you toinclude Me in on the things going on in your life.I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you havinga conversation with Me. I want to be yourdearest friend.
6. HAVE FAITH:I see a lot of things from up here that youcan't see from where you are. Have faith inMe that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me;you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me.Although I have a much bigger task than you,it seems as if you have so much trouble justdoing your simple part. How hard can trust be?
7. SHARE:You were taught to share when you wereonly two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who areless fortunate than you. Share your joy withthose who need encouragement. Share yourlaughter with those who haven't heard any insuch a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faithwith those who have none.
8. BE PATIENT:I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousandsof people, and experience so much. How can y ou be so impatient then when it takes Mea little longer than you expect to handlesomething on My to-do-list? Trust in Mytiming, for My timing is perfect. Justbecause I created the entire universe inonly six days, everyone thinks I shouldalways rush, rush, rush.
9. BE KIND:Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dresslike you, or talk like you, or live the same wayyou do, but I still love you all. Please tryto get along, for My sake. I created eachof you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences.
10. LOVE YOURSELF:As much as I love you, how can you notlove yourself? You were created by me forone reason only -- to be loved, and to lovein return. I am a God of Love. Love Me.Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see youso angry with yourself when things gowrong. You are very precious to me.Don't ever forget......
